Arrigoni SpA is a full-cycle textile manufacturer: from weaving the fabrics to packaging the products.
It
has, together with the sister-company Sachim, two production units at Uggiate
Trevano/Bizzarone (Como) and Putignano (Bari), which occupy a total of about
70,000 sq.m., 17,500 sq.m. of which is covered. Production capacity exceeds
3,000 tons annually, which is equivalent to 42 million sq.m. We have 100
employees as well as an external workforce of about 30, producing netting
fabrics for various technical applications.
In the Agricultural sector, we offer a range of netting for climatic control
(e.g. anti-hail, wind-breaks, shading) as well as biological control (e.g.
anti-insect and bird protection).
Arrigoni netting is also finding more and more applications in other sectors,
such as Building, Sport and Tourism and Home and Garden, in a constant drive
for technical adaptation. Our factories are surrounded by countryside and
respect the environment - they don't cause pollution, nor do they create
any toxic waste. Most products are made of polyethylene, with a limited
use of polypropylene and polyester.
The full-cycle production process permits quality control during every phase
of production - from the raw materials, granules, dyes and stabilizers to
the fabric itself, finishing and packaging. This guarantees a high, consistent
standard of quality.
Our distribution network covers most countries in the world and ensures
constant feedback on clients' ever-changing requirements. We are represented
in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Central and South America. Our
widespread presence in Italy is also important: Arrigoni is in fact the
market leader in its sector, and our logo is synonymous with quality and
durable products.

Arrigoni
SpA was founded in 1936 thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of Giovanni
Arrigoni - and is still run by his family. The company's Head Office is
in the province of Como - renown since the early 1900's for its high-quality
traditional textile production. Como's textile industry still leads the
field both in Italy and worldwide in this highly technical and avantguard
field, thanks to technical research and the creativity of its highly specialized
workers.
Like Como's textile industry, we at Arrigoni continue to strive for technological
innovation and improvement in our production methods, as well as ever-higher
standards of quality, which is why the company has always invested in
research and development.
In fact, the original fabrics manufactured in 1936 for the clothing industry
produced with flat looms and natural fibres (cotton and silk) underwent
a radical transformation in 1957. Giovanni Arrigoni realised that the
new polyethylene fibre (created in Milan in 1955 by Nobel prizewinner
Natta) would make innovative applications and important developments practicable.
Thanks to being near to Milan and to having contact with the people working
with Natta, Arrigoni became one of the first companies in the world to
use these new fibres.
A second evolution took place in 1968 with the introduction of the Raschel
loom, alongside the traditional loom, in order to produce knotted-mesh
netting.
In the 1990's, in order to improve quality standards even further, the
company integrated spinning into its production cycle, completing their
production repertoire with:
- single yarn extrusion
- primary film (sheeting) extrusion
- tape band extrusion
- flat loom and Raschel weaving
Today we invest in more modern agriculture, designing innovative installation
systems (e.g. our patented Ombraforte 2002) and additions to the raw materials
which improve both the efficiency and life of the product.
Our history, therefore, is one of tradition backed up by technology. As
in the past, today Arrigoni is a market leader and our name remains synonymous
with quality - offering our clients support, safety, innovation, efficiency,
prompt service and reliability. |
